At the end of 2001 the question was asked to everyone who was part of the site how they wanted CUK to continue, either as it was then, or to develop it into a full subscription based car club, with the Obviously the latter was the unanimous answer! And so CUK the club began, with a full membership scheme so the members could feel part of the club and the whole CUK experience.

2002 saw our first club stand at Donny Show. It was now that we felt that the club was really going places, with members signing up gradually but surely. The club started to grow as the months went past, and we had club stands at all the major shows that year. A community soon developed, with member mainly from around the North West and Yorkshire, as more and more people saw what CUK was about, which is a community of minded-like enthusiasts, who enjoy cruises, shows, modifying, and having a great time in the process.

In 2003 the club really developed and extended even further, with members from Wales and Scotland, as well as other areas of England. The scene had become more about local meets, and this helped CUK spread across the NW. Cruises and meets brought members together regularly, and the community went from strength to strength, helped by club events. These became more frequent, including monthly meets, trip to Alton Towers, being part of ‘The Reverend Bob Show’ on Men & Motors, and at the of the year a Xmas Meal & Party in Manchester city centre. Club displays again at all of the major shows such as Donny Show, Ultimate Street Car, Max Power Live, French Car Show, Trax and UK Modified Nationals, at which we won the award for ‘Best Car Club’.

This year sees CUK’s third birthday, with this the fifth generation website, and a club of over 200 members. The cruise scene may have changed, but CUK’s ambition hasn’t, and that’s to be the best Car Club in the UK, with a great community of varied enthusiasts who all enjoy everything about cars, cruises, shows, and having the best time possible whilst they’re at it!

Take a look round the site and see what you think. Hopefully you’ll like what you see, so why not become part of it too!
