Doncaster Show 2004

Home > The Club > Past Events > Doncaster Show 2004

Doncaster Custom Car Show is generally regarded as the first major show of the UK show season, and so it’s always been CUK’s first chance to have a club stand and show off some of the club’s cars. This year was no different, and for the third year CUK had a stand at the show, with some highly modded motors.

Ribzzy’s Bravo was fresh out the bodyshop with its new Ferrari red and glitter respray, and more trick bits to the leather-laden interior. Pete’s bright yellow VW Beetle was on show with its new gorgeous sounding twin exhausts, 19” rims, and smooth bodywork. Sy’s Astra was looking all right in white, with a sweet body kit and 18” Compomotive MO’s. Random’s Z3 was ready to turn heads left right and centre, not surprising considering it has an Animal body kit, lambo door conversion, custom rear lights and flip paint! Kanon once again brought his CRX out from the garage, which is a sight to be seen with its glitter paint job. When the sun hits the car it’s a rainbow of colour and sparkle! With Beardy’s V6 Corsa snapped up by Midas for their trade stand, A_Reg was ready with his sweet XR2i, with the mk5 rear bumper, twin exhausts, flush tailgate, polished rims and coilover suspension, this car aint to be sniffed at! Plus Messer’s newly purchased 106 Rallye with Speedline lightweight rims and big brake conversion completed the line up.

With the arrangements all made for the convoy down, everyone made their way to Birch Services on the M62, in the rain. The weather wasn’t looking too great for the weekend, but Taryn had faith and was positive it was going to be glorious sunshine for the rest of the weekend. Just so she could show off her own assets I bet!

Things never run smoothly when CUK go on tour, but it’s all part of the fun, and the first hiccup was at the F1 hotel. There had been some mistake or confusion with some peoples’ bookings, so a lot of people only had a room for the Friday night. Simple answer, share rooms! One easy way for people to get know each other better. Once all the panic had died down, there was only one left to do… DRINK.
