Doncaster 6

Doncaster has always had a great reputation for cruises, and the mere fact that this was cruise six proves it. We've been to a couple of Donny cruises before, and they never disappoint, so this one we weren't going to miss.

Our convoy was leaving from Birch services, and after meeting up with Oggy and a few other people there, we made our way over to Hartsheads Moor services, where we met up with Cubby and about 8 more cars. Our next stop was the main convoy point at Doncaster North services. By the time we got onto the M18, we seemed to have picked up a few more, and so we had about 20 cars with us. Pulling in at about 7.30 the car park was rammed which was a great sight and we knew we were in for a top cruise.

At 7.45 the horns started and we were off. At first it was the usual chaos, and as no-one really knew where we were going as we'd been told it was a new venue, a phone call was made to Hulmie to confim the cruise location.

We made our way down to Wheatley Industrial Park, where we were met by about 100 cars already parked up. On entering Andy106 greeted us with a nice burnout to start the evening off, soon followed by another. The cruise seemed to be kicking off nicely, but there wasn't as many cars as we'd seen earlier. This was answered when we were told that Sue's convoy didn't actually leave Warner Brother's car park, and everyone else had just parked up there!

So we made our way across to be greeted by a huge tailback or cruisers trying to get in! About 3/4 of an hour later we finally got into the car park, and the next task was finding somewhere to park, because the number of cars was amazing. In fact people had resorted to parking in the adjacent car park as an overflow.
