Doncaster Custom Car Show is one of the longest standing and probably the best car show in the UK. For over 25 years this show has brought us all of the latest creations and developments in the modifying world, all at Doncaster RaceCourse. This year has seen the show go 'On Tour', enabling people from all over the UK experience what a 'Donny Show' is all about.

This customary Donny Show was back in April, and what a great weekend it was. It's now middle of August, and the show's organisers 'Live Promotions' are taking the show down south, North Weald Airfield, Essex, to be precise. After being offered a place in the 'Web Village' and spaces in the 'Hot Hatch' section, it was just a question of finding cars to make the journey down to just outside the M25.

In the end it didn't end up being too difficult a task, and the prospect of checking out cruising down south was also an added incentive. Having to set off at 3.45am Saturday morning wasn't particularly pleasant prospect however. Red Bull, Pro Plus and nicotine here we come.

After picking up Ric_Maroo in Bury, it was onto Hartshead Moor to meet EvilClio and Ben with the Mini, who was having his car on the FAST CAR stand. Next stop was Tibshelf to meet Alan with the Bravo. By this time people were looking bleary eyed, but it wasn't too much farther. Just one run now down to the M25 and up the M11.

Just after 8am we arrived at the airfield, surrounded by thick fog. Wasn't quite the weather we were expecting, but we were assured the sunshine would soon be out. After meeting Phil and Spencer who had made the journey the night before from Hull, we were ready to get the cars in and set up.

The show didn't look like it was going to be that busy at first, as there was plenty of spare room around the site. With this in mind, we placed all of our cars in the one spot, and set up our two gazebos. We were placed next to CRUISEQUEST and JUSTCRUIZIN in the Web Village, who had brought along some of their motors too. Bit nearer to home for them though!
