After six
months of planning and with over 20 convoys confirmed for
the night, we were well looking forward to this. Plus we were
heading further north for once, so we were looking forward
to a change of scenery.
After pulling onto Rochdale the turnout wasn't too bad considering
the weather, and there were a few new faces, which is always
nice. We made our way up to Birch Services to meet up with
Saxokel's convoy, and as usual once we were all together the
night looked quite promising.
Again there were plenty of new faces and nicely modified motors.
Where do they all spring from?? Anyway, we set off towards
Lancaster to where Pug Luver was waiting, and our very own
Sy was giving us updates, which were promising.....to begin
with.
Deciding to go ahead of everyone else meant CossieRob and
myself were the first of the north west to arrive, only to
find about 30 cars parked up just off the motorway sliproad
in a Holiday Inn car park with a very worried looking Pug
Luver. It turned out that the coppers were ahead of the cruise,
and had blocked off pretty much everything in the area. Gutted.
In these situations there really is only one option.......
Blackpool. Blackpool can always be relied on when you need
to save a cruise.
So off we set to Blackpool, as the word slowly filtered through
to all the convoys. Forton Services, where the majority of
people had ended up waiting whilst a decision was made. After
CossieRob and Sy got a bit giddy with their speeds on the
motorway, we ended being the first onto the coach car park
in Blackers.
Half an hour later the place was jammed with some very tidy
motors and the stereos were turned up, and it ended up being
a very chilled atmosphere, in more than way than one! Taking
pics whilst not being able to feel your hands is not a very
enjoyable experience, believe me!
