Whilst the convoys were grouping in the damp, cold outdoors
all over the country, CruisinUK Admin and a few others including
Cruise organizer CorsaRob
were sat in front of a crackling fire in a remote pub in Macclesfield
kindly accompanied by the staff from REDLINE magazine
A few photos were taken in the car park and away we went, heading
for the location.
Once we arrived, the car park was already buzzing with activity.
The odd tenner made it's way through my window for CUK
membership as we passed (wish money would fall outta the
sky every day!).
Of course the 5-0 were already snooping around but things were
looking good.
With bad luck lurking around the corner, Rob's organizing skills
were about to be put to the test, mobiles started buzzing all
over the place and a secondary location was announced just in
time before the staff of the facility and the police began "shoo-ing"
everyone away. Onward to Stanley Green!!
This was where the action REALLY started. An arena sat open
and waiting at one end of the car park for everyone to perform
and perform THEY DID ;-)
There was a MASSIVE turnout and some seriously class machines,
some familiar and others previously unseen. I was particularly
impressed by a Courtenay converted Mk4 Astra running a Calibra
Turbo lump, nice!
The action continued through the evening, some of the CUK
girls were interviewed
and photographed by Redline Magazine and some of our cars
were also photographed. The only thing that was a little disappointing
was the attitude of the Greater Manchester Police at the end
of the night, they were very rude to a number of members, uncalled
for!
