If 100's
of modified French motors, major trade stands, a 1/4 mile
drag strip and some of the best best French car tuners in
the business all in one place sounds like heaven to you, then
this is a show you don't want to miss.
This year was the second year for the Peugeot Gti Autosport
Club and French Car Show. Held at Avon Park Raceway, in Stratford-upon-Avon,
the show had great reviews last year from the major magazines,
and this year promised to be even bigger and better. It was
our first visit to the event, and we had our stand there too,
so we were really looking forward to the day.
With everything hopefully organised, the cars cleaned, and
our new gazebo packed away, we met up at Birch Services with
the others to convoy down. Unfortunately due to 'unforeseen
circumstances' some of the cars that were meant to be our
stand couldn't make it, which was a real shame.
When we arrived at the show we were greeted by hundreds of
pugs, saxos, renaults, nearly every French motor you can think
of. The weather was glorious, which showed off the paintwork
of some cars to the max. After finding our spot we set up
our little stand and banner, and parked the cars in a circle.
Kevstar, from Cruiseboard.co.uk, brought his sweet saxo over,
and the stand was complete. We decided it was time to take
some pics so went for a wander with Kevstar and ChrisL.
There were
some really sweet cars on show, including kellie's 106 and
the Ecosse cars. And it was good to see some the cars of the
members off the PGAC forum. Check out the pics.
The dragstrip was hammered all day, with allsorts of cars
having a go up the strip. This gave people the opportunity
to see what their car could manage in the 1/4 mile dash. Some
drag cars and drag bikes ran aswell, letting us see some really
quick action.
