The day started with an early morning wake up call from Moonie.
"Are you awake??" to the reply "murmur yeh" and asleep i was.

The angry Swan arrived with Dave already drinking breakfast (not the thing to see with a hangover) and away we went to Castle Combe. About 4 hours later and an RS Focus on the kill list, we arrived.
As soon as we parked up and got out we saw the Reyland 3 door cossie giving it steam around the track. This was gonna be a good day.

And within 10 minutes it was. I was seeing cars I thought were exstinct and cars i remember seeing as a kid at the Lombard RAC rally...Lancia Stratos, Audi Quattro, RS200, T16, Renault 5 Gordini Turbo...

And then the time was closing in on the part we had been waiting for, the Group B special stage with cars like the Talbot Sunbeam, Mk1 mexico's, R5 gordini, SWB Audi Quattro, Delta Integrale (Johns), Datsun 280Z and of course Stig Blomquist driving the Pikes Peak 840bhp RS200Evo.
We somehow managed to blag into the pits and watching that go past about 5 feet away from us was purely amazing, and the term "Like a rocket on Viagra" was born.

Then it was time to chill out and watch some track action and a final walk round before Moonie took his Rally skills to the roads and towards Donnington Park.

A big thank you to Brian for the passes, Moonie for being Des and Dave for the pies to keep the beer cool.
