Trax, billed
as the ultimate car club track event. Despite this, with the
amount of shows we'd already attended and had stands at in
the year so far, it was decided we wouldn’t be having
a stand at this one. But then, things change, and we’ve
become show junkies, so it became a mad rush to find spaces
to get some CUK cars on show. A big thanks has to go to our
friends at SUPEDUP.CO.UK
who managed to squeeze us on their stand. Thanks guys!
The main reason behind us wanting to go to Trax is that this
one day event is absolutely huge. It’s held at the home
of Motorsport, Silverstone race track, which means as well
as over 100 car club displays and 40,000 sq ft of trade stands,
there’s also the opportunity to take your car for a
blast round the track, and take part in 0-60 sprint tests.
With
the cars cleaned, polished and packed up, we made our way
down to Silverstone on the Saturday afternoon. Thanks to one
of members Phil we’d been able to get a few rooms with
the 200+ club at a Travelodge just down the road from the
track. Nice and close ready for the early start in the morning.
With
us settled into the hotel, there was only one thing to do,
go to the pub of course! It was also here that we got to meet
one of our Welsh members who was showing with us. After a
few beers in the local town, well more than a few, we made
our way back to the hotel.
Waking
up at a time normally reserved for milkmen, it was all made
worthwhile when we realised that it was the noise of the 700bhp
Skyline from the 200+ plus club warming up that had awoken
us, you don’t get that everyday! Walking out to see
a line of modified cars already queuing in the morning mist
was awesome. Now it was our turn to join the queue.
