Ultimate Street Car, the phatest car festival in the UK'.
Not a bad description of what was one the best weekends we've
ever had. The show itself was great, with plenty of strip
action, some damn nice show cars and the obligatory sexy women,
but it was the atmosphere of the weekend that made it such
an enjoyable experience. From the antics in the club camping
area to the live entertainment in the dance tent, this was
one weekend we won't forget in a hurry.
It was our first time ever at USC, so we were really looking
forward to seeing what was it was all about. After spending
the weeks after Max Power Live arranging our Club Camping,
after being let down for the Web Arena, and ensuring we had
the cars and the gear we needed to camp, plus copious amounts
of beer of course, we were ready to head down to the famous
Santa Pod.
The day didn't quite go to plan from the off, as on the way
to Lymm Services to meet everybody I was involved in an 'incident'
in the terrible conditions, putting one car out of action.
Luckily everyone was fine, with just the cars being damaged.
This however meant we'd lost the generator and the floodlights,
but this was no major problem.
After meeting
Alicia, Pats and Cookie, it was onto Sandbach to meet up with
Mcdesign, Lee, Joe and the rest of the gang. The first hint
of the weekend ahead came when they pulled out their workmen
hardhats and stetsons from the year before! The jokes began
and the atmosphere was set.
We made
our way down the M6, M3ttJ tagging on at Keele Services, and
soon enough all I could see in front was the vision of a Cossie
and an Impreza darting in and out of the traffic, in the rain,
with flashes of orange every now and then as the cossie spat
out its flames. USC here we come!
